What People Are Saying ...
But first, some background...
Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, Silvia (Sly) Young is a motivational speaker, survivor of stage 4 endometriosis, infertility and co-occurring invisible diseases, and an advocate for women's health and patient’s rights. Silvia had an award-winning career in Public Relations, but due to health, now channels her efforts on women's health education and advocacy focused on Guest Lecturing at Universities and Colleges. Constantly researching, Silvia curates on Facebook/UniteEndo, directs campaigns like YouTube Channel 31 FemTruths, and organizes grassroots, social-media, advocacy efforts like UniteEndo California, where she mobilized the California endometriosis community for 2016 elections and ongoing progressive policy reform., and United States of Endo, mobilizing for 2018 mid-terms, and 2020 elections.
So what are others saying?
"I have performed many evaluations for speeches in the past, but in this particular case, I felt that I volunteered to critique an artist and discovered her name was Van Gogh. It was a masterpiece. ... I would encapsulate her speech in one-word reviews: impactful, emotional, personal, inspirational, perspective, powerful."
T. Quon, Toastmasters' Chapter President
"I first met Silvia prior to Endometriosis Awareness Month, March 2017. She was collecting video clips of personal accounts of gaslighting experiences among women with endometriosis from the medical community. We were also brought together to work on another awareness project 'Drs Notes', led by EndoStats. This project was distributed at the World Congress of Endometriosis in Vancouver, B.C., Canada in May 2017 and is available online at EndoStats. This was followed by a third project, through the NCD Alliance (Non-Communicable Diseases Alliance) to raise awareness of endometriosis and the need for local-to-global policy changes necessary to decrease the social and economic injustices of endometriosis around the globe. Since we first met I have learned a lot about who Silvia IS. Silvia is an advocate who knows 'the game'. She brings her education, experience and skill set with embedded passion to any event or arena. her speeches and writings have a 'wow factor' often lacking in the community we seek changes. Her energy and raw realism creates a 'cause for pause' among her listeners and readers. A 'wow factor'. It is not often we find a person that sacrifices time for their own successes to support others to advance their own advocacy projects. Silvia offers ideas, approaches and support to others in a selfless manor. She is reliable, loyal and trustworthy. If you're looking for a person who not only 'knows' the game, but can 'change' the game, she is the perfect teammate."

"Today's Giving Sister Award goes out to Silvia Young. Silvia was nominated by her fellow endosisters because of her dedication to not only her sisters but the endometriosis community as a whole. Silvia goes above and beyond to raise awareness for endo and helps give fellow endosisters a voice. On behalf of Endo Sisters United and the endometriosis community, we thank you".
